Alex's hatha-flow teaching style blends elements from the Iyengar and Ashtanga Yoga traditions. She also draws inspiration from various spiritual and somatic disciplines including Qigong Meditation, the Feldenkrais Method®, Pilates, and Classical / Contemporary Dance. Alex lures your awareness out of the ego and deep into the physical body, helping you to connect with the breath, find skeletal alignment, and move a mindful body safely through dynamic asana sequences. From this invigorated physical body arises the sweet nectar of prana (vital energy or life-force) that nourishes the body-mind-spirit whole. Alex brings over twenty years of Yoga, dance, and somatic movement study to the Yoga mat (RYT®, YogaWorks; BFA Dance, Univ. of California, Irvine). In recent years, she has been privileged to deepen her Yoga practice through the expert guidance of such teachers as Jodie Rufty, Lisa Walford, Maty Ezraty, Nora Mangiamele, and Rusty Wells. She dances professionally in the San Francisco area.
